Crave God's Word

We are spoiled today to the availability of the Bible in its many forms and versions. In the early days it was written on scrolls and very few had access to the written word. Today, we have different translations and we can access it through hard copy, computer, tablet, cell phone, radio, or other forms.

It is quite easy now to search the scripture and find passages or meanings for words. That doesn’t mean that, as a society, we are any better off now than we were a few decades ago. In fact, I would submit that we are worse off, spiritually, than we were then.

But no matter what form or forms we have to access the Bible today, we should crave the Word of God. We should desire it more than food on a consistent, daily basis. It is essential for our spiritual growth and maturity in our walk with God. Knowing God through prayer and study of his Word is vital to our Christian lives.

1 Peter 2:2 (TPT) - In the same way that nursing infants cry for milk, you must intensely crave the pure spiritual milk of God’s Word. For this “milk” will cause you to grow into maturity, fully nourished and strong for life.
