Be a Representative

Wherever you go and whatever you do, your reputation and your testimony goes with you. That means that you are a representative of the Lord in everything you do, if you are a Christian and you let it be known that you are one. Whether you like it or not, other Christians are judged by your actions and, sometimes, even your inaction.

It is easy to sit in a church pew on a Sunday morning and sing worship songs and listen to your pastor preach a wonderful sermon and go out to lunch with your Christian friends. Maybe you even dare to lead the group in saying grace over your meal before you eat. But how do you handle Friday night when a different group of friends want to go out and party and participate in other activities that might not be so spiritual in nature?

There is nothing wrong with non-church related activities and social events. Just be certain that you are not doing anything to harm your testimony and to affect your standing as an example of how a Christian should live their life for Christ. Wherever you go and whatever you do, just remember that you are, first and foremost, a child of God and be a representative of the Lord Jesus.

Colossians 3:17 (NLT) - β€œAnd whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.”
