Our building doesn’t have a 13th floor. More accurately, it doesn’t have a floor that they call the 13th floor. I work on the 14th floor, but it is really the 13th. There are four banks of elevators that provide express service to floors 10 through 19. One of them is elevator number 13. Why didn’t they choose to skip that number?
Superstitions are funny things and some people are really bound up by them. Thankfully, I am not one of those people. I have stepped on many cracks and never did my mother suffer from a broken back. I have broken more than a few mirrors in my day that, according to superstition, should cause me to have a continual string of seven years of bad luck. But I haven’t had even one year.
God is with me and I do not live under a curse or bad luck. Speak only words of life into your day, not curses. His Word is a shining light to guide you in your choices and decisions. It makes your pathway clear.
Psalms 119:105 (NLT) - “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.”
