You Can't Unsee That!

Okay, guys can especially relate to this. You're standing there minding your own business and your friend shows you a picture of himself in a Speedo... and he does not have the body type to be wearing a Speedo! That's usually your first reaction, right? "Aw man, I can't unsee that!"

Well, there's a lot of truth to that actually. Our brains are pretty amazing DVRs. The things our eyes see, our ears hears, our noses smell, and the things we touch are all recorded permanently in our brain. Our senses are live recorders for our brains everywhere we go from our birth until we breathe our last.

That's why we need to guard ourselves against the kind of input we provide to our brains. This is especially important when it comes to children. Their minds are like sponges, soaking up and processing everything they experience, formulating their own realities and mindset based upon input from their environment.

We, as parents, have the greatest responsibility to control that as much as possible in their formative years. We can't control it all but we can help them process it. You are a vital part of editing the input they receive outside your home.

What are you intentionally filling your head with? You can control that. There are plenty of things that are thrust upon us that we can't control. No more "People of Walmart" pics please!

Philippians 4:8 (NLT) - "And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise."
