Do you ever just sit and talk with God? If you think about it, that is what prayer really is. When I was a child I thought prayer was getting down on both knees next to my bed at night, folding my hands just right, closing my eyes, bowing my head, and saying some special little "God bless" type of prayer or something memorized. I would end it with "amen" and then hop into bed.
Now I understand a lot more about prayer. It is simply communication or conversation with God. My favorite prayer time is when I can get alone somewhere and start talking in a normal conversational tone with him. And I listen to him. My heart actually hears him talking to me!
Try going for a walk or finding a quiet place where no one is around so you can talk with God. The best times I have had has been outdoors on a camping trip or a retreat where I am able to go for a hike or find a spot on a hill or in a meadow with nothing but nature around. I can almost hear an audible voice then, but I can definitely hear him speaking to my heart.
Talk with God. He wants to hear from you every day because he loves you and cares for you!
Psalms 27:8 (NLT) - My heart has heard you say, "Come and talk with me." And my heart responds, "LORD, I am coming."
