Ready, Set, Love

No matter which side of any issue or conflict, whether it’s political, work-related, or even spousal, let love rule the day. The Bible tells us in several verses to “love your neighbor as yourself”. Let’s start with loving yourself. If you don’t love yourself, then you really need to work on that! If you don’t love yourself, then how can you love others? Most of us do love ourselves… maybe a little too much!

If you have the “loving yourself” part down, then love your neighbor as you love yourself. Loving the lovable is the easy part. It’s loving the unlovable that is so hard. Jesus did it! He laid his life down for everyone, so that all could be saved. That is his will for all his children.

So when conflicts come, let that be your go to emotion. Start with love and let it work first in your situation. Maybe it will smooth over the issue and resolve it before it escalates into a major battle. There are times when you have to stand and fight your battles, with God at your side. But always be ready to let love find a way whenever possible. Ready, set, love!

Galatians 5:14 (NLT) - For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
