Happy Double Twenties

I’m going to try this again. I posted it this morning, but the link apparently broke. It’s a brand new year and decade. So much has happened in the past ten years. I retired after 32 years of government service. I have four more grandchildren. I almost said five, but then I realized that the oldest was born in the previous decade. Talk about mind blowing!

We often think of the new year as a time to start over with a clean slate. We make resolutions to lose weight or exercise more or make promises to God that we aren’t going to do certain things anymore. We almost always break them and start over again the next year.

Thankfully, God doesn’t require us to wait for a new year to make a fresh start. His mercies are new every morning. A new beginning is only a prayer away. When you blow it, tell him, and start again. He is there to forgive you and love you.

I pray that your new year, decade, and beyond is blessed above all your expectations. Have a joyful and happy double twenties!

Isaiah 43:19 (NLT) - “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”
