When Grandkids Get Sick

I always hated it when my kids got sick. I would’ve gladly traded places with them if I could, just to take away their pain so they would feel good again. The only good part about it was all the cuddle time, when they would sit still and let you hold them and love on them. It never mattered I stood the risk of catching whatever bug they had because I just wanted to love their pain and discomfort away and pray for them. Miraculously, I almost never caught their sickness.

Two of my grandkids are sick right now with the flu. The big difference is that I’m separated from them by the whole country. I’m on the west coast and they are on the east coast. They have their parents to do the holding and cuddling, which is great, but I want so badly to do for them as I did for their mommy so many years ago. I feel so helpless way out here on the opposite coast. But the best thing I can do for them anyway is to pray for them, which I do daily anyway. Now I have a specific need to pray for and I will pray constantly until they are completely healed of the flu.

God’s arms are always open to receive us, hold us, and heal us of all our pain. It doesn’t matter if it’s a physical, spiritual, or emotional need. He longs to draw us in and meet all our needs. We can either accept his love or reject it. Let Him rock you in His arms and bring you complete healing today!

Matthew 14:14 (NLT) - “Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.”
