Two different times in my career I took training in a course called the Tactical Emergency Vehicle Operator’s Course (TEVOC). One was a basic course and the other was an advanced course. They were both very fun and quite an adrenaline rush.
We learned how to take turns at high speeds, drive through serpentine courses and on icy roads. We even drove courses around obstacles in reverse, at high speeds. Driving fast in reverse and making turns is more difficult than it may sound. It takes a lot of concentration and a good feel for the capabilities and power of your vehicle.
The danger of driving in reverse is that you don’t know what is in front of you. Driving forward is much easier and you can forget about what is behind as you focus on what is before you. That sounds like a good Biblical principle. Keep your eyes on what lies ahead. Stay focused on Jesus and drive forward!
Proverbs 4:25 (NLT) - “Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you.”
