We all need friends to enrich our lives and to share our experiences with. A top tier friend, or best friend, is one that we share our deepest thoughts, hurts, joys, and secrets with. A bond of trust is earned through quality time spent together, forged in the fires of love, adversity, and mutual respect.
As Christians, we are told to confess our sins to one another. That’s what a best friend is for. You can share those sins with your best friend without the fear of them gossiping about your sin. You have an instant accountability partner and someone to pray with and for you. There is great spiritual strength in joining together in prayer.
Finally, imagine Jesus as your best friend! Who could be a closer, more reliable confidant? He tells us to cast all of our worries and cares on him. He wants to hear about every aspect of our lives. Our Lord is a friend and a brother and the one who saved us from our sins!
1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) - “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”
