Who Are You Remembering?

It’s important to be reminded that Memorial Day isn’t just another long weekend that we get during the year. I think of it as a celebration of the life of those who gave their lives so that we might be free. Many of us answered that same call, but thankfully, never paid the ultimate cost. We returned home to our loved ones.

For the families and friends of those who lost their lives in service to our country, every day is Memorial Day. They will never forget. This day is set aside for the rest of us to pause and remember them.

People serve for far too many reasons to list here, but each one knows the risks involved when they enlist. Tears of pride and joy are shed when they finish boot camp and have earned the title soldier, sailor, airman, or marine. Thank them for their service each time you cross the path of our military service men and women.

Enjoy today with your family, but take the time to pray for the families who have an empty spot at their table. And always praise the Lord for Jesus Christ, who gave His life to save your soul!

John 15:13 (NLT) - “There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
