Weeds

I have a strong dislike for weeds. I think hate would be a more appropriate term for it. This year’s rainy season has produced an abundant crop of weeds in our acre sized lot. We don’t have a lawn, just rocks so they stick out like a sore thumb.

Not only are weeds unsightly but they are hosts to those detestable critters called ticks and chiggers. So they terrorize the legs and ankles while the mosquitoes take care of arms and necks. Thankfully we have just hired someone to eradicate the weeds and hopefully remove the homes of the ticks and chiggers.

The enemy tries to put the unseen pests in our life to distract us from the beauty around us. God is able to overcome the schemes and plans of the devil and bring us peace and joy. Just as clearing and spraying my yard removes the unwanted and unsightly weeds, removing the junk from my life and purifying my heart allows me to see the beauty of the Lord.

Psalms 29:2 (NLT) - “Honor the Lord for the glory of his name. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.”

I’m Exhausted!
