Life in the Slow Lane

No, that was not a typo. I didn’t mean “Life in the Fast Lane”. I lived and worked in Los Angeles for over 30 years so I know all about the fast lane! The stress, anxiety, and danger it brings wears you down. It’s amazing how much you miss while zooming along at high speeds and competing with the others.

We moved away from there and I eased over into the slow lane. What a wonderful difference it has made! I have noticed things that I would have otherwise zipped right past before. I now love taking the backroads and alternate routes to see the beautiful countryside and whatever happens to be around the next bend. Less worry and stress!

God created so much beauty and it is there for us to see and enjoy. We spend way too much of our lives rushing past it all just to get from point “A” to point “B”. Take the time to appreciate the world around you and thank the Creator for it all. Live your life in the slow lane!

Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NLT) - “Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.”
