Today is my birthday. Even though it has been a year since my last one, it seems like only a short time ago. Double sixes! I feel like an old highway route. I was so distracted by my birthday that I almost forgot to post my blog. Surely that has nothing to do with the aging process!
The morning started off with some of my high school classmates singing happy birthday to me as they presented me with a red velvet cupcake with a candle. We wrapped up our class reunion weekend this morning and I returned home to a delicious birthday dinner with my family. It has been a great weekend.
Another year to look back and reflect on the many blessings I have received throughout this year. They say that wisdom comes with age, so I must be getting pretty wise. I don’t feel that wise so maybe I’m still young. I don’t like getting older but it sure beats the alternative! No matter what, I love life, I’m thankful for another year, and I pray for many more.
