Who has stress? Who has anxiety? I am a Christian, so I cast all my cares on God because he cares about me. Right? Right!
At least that is the way it is supposed to be. I have to be totally honest with you though... I am carrying a ton of burdens right now and they are weighing me down. My stress meter has pegged and my anxiety levels are higher than they have ever been.
My wife and I are juggling the repair of our rental house and upgrade of our primary residence in anticipation of selling both at some point in the near future (almost immediately for our rental). We are doing this while trying to maintain a normal pace with our job, family, church family, and personal time together.
Are we casting all our cares, stresses, and anxieties on him as the Word says we are supposed to? We are trying to, but we are not doing a proper job of it. We get so caught up in the busyness of it all that we don't take the time to slow down and give it all to the One who loves us and cares for us.
There is an old Andre Crouch song called "Give Them All to Jesus". One of the verses I will quote, or perhaps paraphrase, is: "If I didn't have any problems I would never know that God could solve them. Give them all... give them all to Jesus..."
1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) - "Cast all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you."
